FLYING ARM

flying arm There are two models of the flying arm available:
  1. Penetrator: Used for penetration testing

  2. Impactor: Used for impact testing
Both are used in conjuction with the twin wire drop carriage machines.

  1. The setup for calibration testing requires the base to have a quick release kit and M.E.P pad installed. On the flying arm a spherical impactor must be attached.

  2. The setup for an impact test requires the base to have a quick release kit and an anvil. On the flying arm, you attach a head form (Half Magnesium K1A, J.I.S or D.O.T) and helmet to perform a uni-axis impact test.
