Monorail drop carriage

The drop carriage is used on:

  • The uniaxial impact machine
  • The triaxial impact machine

The drop carriage lowers and raises the ball arm holder to the desired height. It also contains the mechanism that releases the ball arm holder initiating the impact.

How it works?

When the stem or limit switch (seen on tight) is depressed, it triggers a sensor stopping the drop carriage from going any lower. This system is used to automate the drop carriage. It can lower automatically to pick up the ball arm holder after an impact.

The drop carriage is also mounted with a magnetic limit switch. This prevents it from being raised higher than the cut-off switches installed on the machine (seen to the left).
